The Chamber of Commerce of the Town of Shediac is sponsoring its first ever sanctioned Scrabble tournament this year, to celebrate the birthplace of the earliest known crossword board game. The tournament weekend will feature a $10,000 prize pool (see below for details), a one-day newcomers' event, and an exhibition match of the original Shediac Crossword Game. All events to be directed by John Chew.

Clocks will be started promptly to maintain the above schedule, and any player who misses a scheduled game may be removed from subsequent pairings until they return and the next pairings are calculated.
The nearest airport to Shediac is Moncton (YQM), with connections to Toronto, Ottawa and Montreal; it is a 21-minute drive from the tournament site.
We have a small block of rooms held at the Hotel Shediac, for C$119 + tax. There are several other hotels, and many bed-and-breakfasts available in town nearby.
Send your entry fees to John Chew by September 28, 2016. Cash, cheque, money order, INTERAC are fine; credit cards and Paypal are not. Please include your name, telephone number, address, valid NASPA membership number (unless this is your first tournament) and preferred division.
