The Chamber of Commerce of the Town of Shediac is sponsoring its second annual sanctioned Scrabble tournament this year, to celebrate the birthplace of the earliest known crossword board game. All events to be directed by John Chew.

TWL: $3,000 / $1,000 / $500 / $400 / $350 / $300 / $200 conditional on 30 players competing. CSW: $2,000 / $1,000 conditional on 10 players competing. Prize fund increased by additional $1,250 with total 60 players competing. | |||
| Format: | NASPA-rated, restricted to players rated ≤1000 (subject to change as needed to meet rating requirements), 4 rounds, 1 open TWL division. Clocks will be started promptly to maintain the above schedule, and any player who misses a scheduled game may be removed from subsequent pairings until they return and the next pairings are calculated.
The nearest airport to Shediac is Moncton (YQM), with connections to Toronto, Ottawa and Montreal; it is a 21-minute drive from the tournament site.
We have a small block of rooms held at the Hotel Shediac, last year's rate was C$119 + tax. There are several other hotels, and many bed-and-breakfasts available in town nearby.
Send your entry fees to John Chew by September 27, 2017. Cash, cheque, money order, INTERAC are fine; credit cards and Paypal are not. Please include your name, telephone number, address, valid NASPA membership number (unless this is your first tournament) and preferred division.
