While the last round of our 27-round main event here at the King's Cup is taking place, five finalists ascend the stage to compete in the finals of the Sudoku competition. I take a picture of the puzzle and look forward to working on it on a plane flight later this month. Taking a look at Boards 2 and 3, I see Nigel Richards (NZL) leading Siu Hean Cheah (SGP) by 50 points or so with good tiles, and Alastair Richards (AUS) trailing Thacha Koowirat (THA) by a little, both with bad tiles. It's looking like a Nigel vs. Komol Panyasophonlert (THA) finals, which ought to be exciting to watch. As soon as the Sudoku finals clear the stage, I'll be moving there myself to set up for the live broadcast of the finals; if there are still any of our games in progress (likely), runners will bring the final results up to me to finish entering while I'm setting up. The current plan for transmitting the board to the audience is (as at the CNSC earlier this month) using this website's game play feature (or rather a local copy of it, to protect against network outages). |
