2. After a few teething problems at the start of the Tournament and a few misunderstandings over the rules during round 1, the 2nd round got under way on schedule with no major mishaps. Theresa Brousson (MLT) as the organiser of the Tournament for the Malta Scrabble Club, decided that she could not play as well as being bombarded with questions by all and sundry and decided to withdraw as there was an uneven number of players anyway so that she could take over the duties of Tournament Director from her husband who continues to do the Commentary! The annotated game for this round is between Paloma Raychbart (ISR) and Beate Holder (DEU) On the 11th play, with Paloma with the edge, Paloma played ODORISE from A7 for 82 to allow her to pull ahead by 146 points. On the 20th play, Paloma played V?NTNERS down from 5N for 71 to bring her score to 385 which clinched the game for her. Final score 544-230.
