Round 3: After the coffee and tea break there was a noticeable increase in the vigour with which the tile bags were shaken - no doubt caffeine-induced. The weather outside has become distinctly un-springlike with low scudding clouds and occasional showers with a drop in temperature - the complete reverse of the playing hall with the exception of some severe depression clouds over some of the players yet to win a game! The recorded game features Nigel Richards vs. Paloma Raychbart. Paloma hit Nigel with a bonus on her first move with APOSTASY for 78 but Nigel kept in touch with WARD for 44. On the 10th play Paloma played another bonus RUEINGS for 78 which gave her a 40 point lead. She then followed the bonus with some high scoring words - RAZED(48), FOY (38) and Qibla (39) while Nigel suffered some horrible racks. Paloma won the match 431-384. That's Scrabble for you!
