The lowest scoring win so far this tournament (except for when Albert Zammit (MLT) took ill on Friday) was Reno Zammit (MLT)s 326-308 over Paula Docherty (Eng).

Mary Doyle (IRL) scored a considerably upset victory over Simon Gillam (Sco), overcoming a 657-point rating difference (1802-1145) to beat him 363-326.

Jojo Delia (MLT) lost to Kevin Synnott (Eng) by a single point, 392-393, and is now the unluckiest player in the event, having lost six games by a total of 89 points.

Chinedu Okwelogu (NGA), who took over first place from Mikki Nicholson (Eng) at the end of Saturday, and has remained their all morning, faces a rematch with Raymond Tate (Sco) in the annotated game at Board 1. #2 Theresa Brousson (MLT) plays #4 Pramit Kamath (IND), #3 Mikki Nicholson (Eng) plays #6 Helen Gipson (Sco).

Chinedu wins and is now 15-4. Theresa wins and is now 14-5. Dan Sandu (ROM) beats Mohammad Sulaiman (ARE) to join Mikki at 13-6. Helen is 12-7, along with David Delicata (MLT), who beat Vincent Boyle (Sco), and Pramit.

Chinedu opened against Ray with ZOWIE (54) keeping AS, drew the blank along with ERRV, made a 42-point play keeping ?RR, drew ?IRU and then bingoed fURRIeR. After Ray replied with GRATINEE, Ray trailed by only 160-143. Ray then scored 36 points with the X keeping five consonants, drew two more and had to exchange, but drew AEIOD to ST for TOADIES to pull ahead 266-218. Ray's post-bingo draw after TOADIES included the Q though, which stuck with him for five turns, letting Chinedu catch up and eventually overtake him for the win.

At 12-7 +60 (!) Pramit leads Class B by one game and one rank; he is trailed by Kevin Synnott (Eng) at 11-8 +749. Mary Doyle (IRL) leads Albert Zammit (MLT) by one game in Class C.
